today’s bit of happy is brought to you by james who got me a gift that was awesome for two very important reasons. first, it was needed. and second, it satisfied both my need for privacy in the event of emergency visitors, AND my paranoia over being snuck up on, “psycho” style.
i suddenly find myself overcome with emotion at trying to describe one of the nicest things anyone has told me in a very long time. possibly ever.
i have been away, so maybe i should just stay away and not post this, because it is by no means complete. but i had such lovely today. i want to share it, i just don’t have the words.
I watched the trailer for repomen this morning. in it is featured jude law, who, if he were a readily available street drug, would have me broke and possibly incarcerated within a matter of hours. i would sell my family and friends for a dose of mister law.
i went to the movies and saw the crazies on saturday, with mauler. everything was going fine until “they” decided the main character should pick up a zippo in a store, and it would already have lighter fluid in it.

you LOSE when you treat your audience like they are stupid. we all do.
i went for a walk with anna, she took the dogs out to an off leash park. the weather was mild and the sun was shining, the puppies were happy and so were we.

i’m not complaining. i’m just a little confused.
my brother made a movie. it is a seven minute documentary film, completed in five days for the hot docs international documentary challenge. i am the only person outside the crew to have seen it so far. it is a work of art.

sorry about the lack of lovely lately, but this time i have a legitimate reason. we department of finance clippers only really work twice a year: the budget, and the fiscal update. for both of those events we take a forty-eight to seventy-two hour break from living, and do nothing but monitor various sources of news.
but i’m back now. you may rejoice.
today’s bit of happy is my brand new travel mug. it allows me to do two things. first, it gives me a way to transport a full cup of coffee from my wonderful coffee machine (which will be it’s own lovely some day soon). and second, it lets me cross another thing off my list of things to do and get.
